For matters concerning safeguarding or child protection, you should ask to speak to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Ms Lannigan, making it clear that you have a concern in this area. If Ms Lannigan is unavailable, the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Ms Garofalo and Ms Foster.

Governance

Montpelier Primary School has a full governing body and details of its membership can be found in the downloadable documents section below.

As well as termly meetings of the full governing body, we have two committees, the Education Strategy Committee (click here for terms of reference) and the Strategic Development Committee (click here for terms of reference). Montpelier Primary School also has a Safeguarding and Child Protection Committee which includes two governors and which reports to our Full Governing Body. OFSTED Report

The school was awarded Outstanding status by Ofsted in 2012. A copy of the report can be found in the downloads section at the bottom of this page.

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, like special schools and pupil referral units.

Funding for financial year 2021 to 2022

In the 2021 to 2022 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

- £1,345 for primary-aged pupils
- £955 for secondary-aged pupils

Schools also receive £2,345 for each pupil identified in the school census as being in local authority care or having left local authority care because of one of the following:

- adoption
- a special guardianship order
- a child arrangements order
- a residence order

PE & Sports Premium

Most schools with primary-age pupils, including Montpelier, receive the PE and sport premium in the academic year 2020 to 2021. Schools receive this funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. The government calculates how many pupils in our school attract the funding using data from the January 2020 school census. In financial year 2020/21, our school will receive a total of £21,400. Allocations for financial year 2021/22 are not yet available.

Funding must be used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and Sport offered. Further information may be found at this link.

In our year 6 cohort, 69% of pupils can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres. 86% can use a range of swimming strokes effectively and 79% of pupils are able to perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)

Montpelier Primary School is an inclusive community of pupils, parents and staff. We are aware of and responsive to the needs of each individual pupil. Data Protection Statement

Individuals have a legal right to be informed about how the school uses any personal data that we hold about them. We comply with this right by providing ‘privacy notices’ (sometimes called ‘fair processing notices’) to individuals where we are processing their personal data. This privacy notice explains how we collect, store and use personal data about pupils. We, Montpelier Primary School, are the ‘data controller’ for the purposes of data protection law.

The government publishes school performance tables and you may search for any school's performance data at this link.

Admissions Criteria

School places from Reception to Year 6 are allocated by the local authority. The Local Authority admissions process and criteria can be viewed using the link below.

Ealing Primary School Admissions

Nursery places are allocated by the school using the same criteria as that which the local authority uses for Reception admissions.

Food Hygiene Rating

Montpelier received the top rating of 5 once more from Ealing Council's Food Regulatory Services Officer after an unannounced food inspection on 3rd July 2017.
